Projektanci

Midgard's design history reaches back to Curt Fischer's world's first patent for adjustable lighting in 1919 and the company's presence at the Bauhaus. It also embraces designs from the Bauhaus era by Werner Glasenapp and continues today through collaborations with Stefan Diez, Sebastian Herkner and a new generation of designers.

Materials, technologies and methods of adjustment have changed across generations. The underlying principle has remained remarkably consistent. Making light adjustable.

Curt Fischer

Curt Fischer founded Midgard Licht in 1919 and obtained the world's first patent for an adjustable electric lamp. His inventions established a new principle of movable light, followed by numerous patents and designs including the TYP 113 Bauhaus lamp and the Modular lighting system.

Midgard lamps were used throughout the Bauhaus in Dessau. Fischer's principle of directing light precisely where it is needed continues to shape Midgard today.
