An archetype of the adjustable task lamp, Midgard's SPRING-BALANCED family has been produced since the 1950s. Its distinctive silhouette is defined by exposed tension springs, articulated arms and an adjustable lamp head - a construction that has made the design instantly recognisable for generations.
The spring-balanced principle gives the luminaire its characteristic ease of movement. The arms can be repositioned smoothly and precisely, directing the light where it is needed while the lamp remains balanced in its chosen position.

Tension springs and steel plates work together to balance the articulated arms. The result is an intuitive movement that feels immediate and natural, allowing the light to be positioned exactly where it is needed.
One socket. Many possibilities.
The standard E27 socket keeps the choice of light open. Modern retrofit LEDs can be replaced at any time, while colour temperature and light output can be selected according to individual needs. A simple, open standard that gives SPRING-BALANCED the freedom to evolve with changing lighting technology.

Frequently asked questions
SPRING-BALANCED uses a standard E27 socket and is suitable for replaceable LED light sources. Midgard recommends an E27 retrofit LED at 2700 K and 6 to 10 W. The maximum permitted wattage is 40 W.
The inside of the lampshade is finished in semi-gloss white to support an even, warm light distribution.
Custom RAL powder-coated finishes can be available for project quantities from 10 pieces. Please contact Midgard for availability and a quotation.
The base fixture is interchangeable, allowing the SPRING-BALANCED principle to be configured as a clamp, table or floor lamp.
