Stefan Diez
Stefan Diez is a german based designer. After graduating from the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, he worked in the studios of Richard Zapper and Konstantin Grcic before founding his own studio, DIEZ OFFICE, in Munich in 2003.
Diez works intensively with materials, technology and is passionate in his quest to explore their limitations. Together with his office they develop products that are precise, yet simple and above all are meant to meet human needs.
He is committed to the achievement of a circular economy and approach environmental and social responsibility with latest technologies, production processes and sustainable material sourcing.
With AYNO, Midgard’s first new draft after more than fifty years, Stefan Diez is testing the boundaries between origin and status quo of adjustable lighting. Radically reduced to the essentials, AYNO meets all requirements of design, technology and sustainability in accordance with Midgard’s guiding principles.
