Direct the light.
Based on a rare draft from the 1930s, the re-edition of the K831 pendant lamp continues Midgard's tradition of adjustable lighting. The hand-adjustable lampshade rotates smoothly on the Bakelite dome, allowing the light to be directed precisely where it is needed. The integrated rotary switch allows the luminaire to be operated directly at the lamp or, depending on the installation, via a wall switch.
The result is a pendant luminaire that combines timeless simplicity with everyday functionality, a standard E27 socket for replaceable LED light sources and carefully crafted details made for continued use.
The character of reflected light.
K831 is available in solid aluminium, brass and copper, powder-coated matt black and double-enamelled finishes. The solid metal shades retain the natural character of the material on both the inside and outside, subtly influencing the warmth and character of the reflected light. The enamelled shades have a white interior for a brighter, more neutral reflection.
The lampshade can be exchanged at any time, allowing the appearance and light effect of the luminaire to evolve over time.
One socket. Many choices.
The standard E27 socket keeps the choice of light open. Modern retrofit LEDs can be replaced at any time, while colour temperature, brightness and beam can be selected according to individual needs. Compatible smart E27 bulbs can also be used if preferred.

The K831 combines traditional manufacturing with a construction designed for continued use. Its metal shade is hand-spun, the characteristic dome is made from Bakelite, and final assembly takes place at Midgard in Hamburg.

K831 uses a standard E27 socket. Midgard recommends a replaceable E27 LED of 6 to 10 W at around 2700 K for warm residential light. Other colour temperatures, brightness levels and compatible smart E27 bulbs can be selected according to the setting. The maximum permitted wattage is 40 W.
For dining tables and kitchen counters, approximately 70 to 80 cm above the surface is a useful starting point. The final height depends on the room, table proportions and desired lighting effect.
Yes. K831 can be used individually or in groups. A centre-to-centre distance of approximately 60 to 80 cm usually creates a balanced arrangement above a table or work surface.
Yes. The K831 shade can be exchanged, allowing the finish and reflected light effect to change without replacing the complete luminaire.
