An archetype of the adjustable task lamp, Midgard's SPRING-BALANCED family has been produced since the 1950s. Its distinctive silhouette is defined by exposed tension springs, articulated arms and an adjustable lamp head, creating a design that has remained instantly recognisable across generations.
The spring-balanced principle gives the luminaire its characteristic ease of movement. The arms can be repositioned smoothly and precisely, directing the light where it is needed while the lamp remains balanced in its chosen position.

Tension springs and steel plates work together to balance the articulated arms. The result is an intuitive movement that feels immediate and natural, allowing the light to be positioned exactly where it is needed.

SPRING-BALANCED is made in Germany using original production tools and in collaboration with long-standing suppliers who have manufactured components for Midgard for many years.
Its exposed tension springs, articulated metal construction and characteristic toggle switch remain integral to a design that has been in continuous production since the 1950s.
One socket. Many choices.
The standard E27 socket keeps the choice of light open. Modern retrofit LEDs can be replaced at any time, while colour temperature and light output can be selected according to individual needs.
The light source can evolve independently from the luminaire, keeping SPRING-BALANCED flexible as lighting technology changes.

SPRING-BALANCED has been in continuous production since the 1950s and continues a Midgard tradition in which movement is integral to the design of light. Its exposed springs, articulated arms and direct operation give the luminaire a character that remains as functional as it is recognisable.

Steel tension springs balance the articulated arms, allowing the lamp to be repositioned smoothly and to remain stable in its chosen position.
SPRING-BALANCED uses a standard E27 socket for replaceable LED light sources. Midgard recommends an E27 retrofit LED at 2700 K and 6 to 10 W. Other colour temperatures can be selected according to the application. The maximum permitted wattage is 40 W.
Yes. The base fixture is interchangeable, allowing the SPRING-BALANCED principle to be configured as a clamp, table or floor lamp.
