Modular NEO continues a lighting principle developed by Midgard over more than a century: making light adjustable. Its origins reach back to the historic Modular series and the TYP 113 Bauhaus lamp, while the current construction brings this principle into contemporary use with patented joints, a rotating lampshade and current lighting technology.
Five points of adjustment.
Modular NEO is designed to move with precision across the working area. Its articulated construction combines five points of adjustment with patented maintenance-free joints, while the rotating lampshade provides the final direction of light.
PATENTED JOINTS
Maintenance-free joints allow precise adjustment while continuing the mechanical principle developed through the historic Modular series.
ROTATING LAMPSHADE
The lampshade rotates to direct the light precisely and carries forward a Midgard shade design from around 1930 preserved in the archive.
From focused light to a warmer atmosphere.
Modular NEO provides Tunable White from 1800 K to 4000 K. No smart home system is required: predefined colour temperatures and dimming are available directly at the luminaire using the integrated dimmer switch.
Connected through Matter, brightness and colour temperature can be adjusted seamlessly across the full range using a compatible smart home app.
Connected, when you want it.
Matter connectivity allows Modular NEO to become part of a compatible smart home environment whenever desired. Integration is optional: the luminaire remains fully functional when used independently.
Once connected, Modular NEO can be controlled alongside other Matter-compatible devices through platforms such as Apple Home, Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
Replace the LED. Keep the luminaire.
Modular NEO uses the replaceable Midgard LED Unit 3.0 PRO with excellent Ra95+ colour rendering and Tunable White. The LED unit can be exchanged independently, supporting maintenance and long-term use of the luminaire.
Heritage, continued.
Modular NEO represents a particular idea of heritage: the continuation of a design principle across generations of lighting. From TYP 113 and the later Modular series to Modular NEO, adjustability has remained at the centre of the construction while arms, joints, lampshades and lighting technology have continued to evolve.

From Bauhaus to today.
The origins of Modular NEO reach back to Curt Fischer's TYP 113 from the early 1920s and the development of Midgard's articulated lighting systems. More than 20 historic Modular variants preserved in the Midgard archive document the continuing refinement of movement, stability and precision.
